Mark Lazaroff will present the topic “From Poor German Tenant Farmer to American Civil War Soldier - Tracing Ancestors through Tumultuous Times using Records.”  He will discuss four German-Americans who fought in the American Civil War and have surnames known to be in his ancestry. Who are these men? Where did they come from? Are they related to him? What could their motives be to fight in the American Civil War? What happened to them? The topic traces these men through tumultuous times both in Germany and in the USA using records.
