FxGS Strategic Plan

Genealogy is changing. New technologies and research tools are creating exciting possibilities, while the ways people learn, communicate, volunteer, and participate are changing too. The Fairfax Genealogical Society (FxGS) needs to change with them—not by abandoning what has made us successful, but by building on those strengths. Our FxGS 2026–2029 Strategic Plan provides a roadmap focused on five areas that touch virtually every part of the member experience.  Learn more below!

What Does This Mean for You?

Members may see new approaches to educational programming, better new-member communications, stronger SIGs, more coordinated information about Society activities, and additional ways to participate and volunteer. Just as importantly, we want to keep listening and use member feedback and participation information to adjust as we go.

The Future Belongs to All of Us. A strategic plan can't strengthen FxGS by itself. Its value will come from what we do with it together - helping ensure that FxGS remains a welcoming, engaging, and sustainable community for genealogists in the years ahead.
