Genetic Genealogy & Artificial Intelligence Special Interest Group

SIG Leader: Janet Hall Werner
Email: geneticsig@fxgs.org

Purpose:

This Special Interest Group alternates (roughly) between focusing on topics relating to DNA, and those relating to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for genealogy. The focus in both cases is solving practical problems in genealogy and breaking down brick walls. The practical application of DNA in finding elusive ancestors, using DNA to find birth parents of adoptees, the use of Y-DNA, and other DNA strategies are discussed. AI tools and cutting-edge uses of artificial intelligence for genealogy are discussed. Guest speakers are often utilized.

Meetings: Our meetings are open to all — you do not have to be a member of the Fairfax Genealogical Society to attend. We meet the first Wednesday of each month between Labor Day and Memorial Day, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. via Zoom. Participants range from beginners to experienced experts.
