Established in 1974, the Fairfax Genealogical Society (FxGS) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting fellowship, cooperation, and education among persons who are conducting genealogical research and aiding those doing research in our area. We currently have over 320 members who live throughout Northern Virginia, the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and more than 15 U.S. states. Although the Society is based in Fairfax County, Virginia, our focus is on Researching Ancestors Everywhere.
