The Fairfax Genealogical Society (FxGS) was established in 1974 as a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to promote fellowship and cooperation among persons who are conducting genealogical research and aid those doing research in our area. We currently have over 500 members, including many who live in or near Fairfax County and many who are searching for information in our area. Although the Society is based in Fairfax County, many of our members are not local, so our research interests are not only local but nationwide and also worldwide.
