Description: Most married women in the US appear on records with their husband’s last name. What records can we turn to in our pursuit of maiden names? Follow the case of Mary Ann Wolf to learn how to find and confirm a maiden name.
Allyson Maughan is a genealogy speaker, writer, and consultant. She speaks at national and state conferences including RootsTech and the Salt Lake Institute for Genealogy. She writes articles for The Crossroads Magazine. She holds an Accredited Genealogy credential in the Southwest Region from ICAPGen and a BS from Idaho State.
