Mining Morning Reports for Genealogical Gold. This presentation is for advanced beginners and beyond. Discover how to trace US WWI and WWII service members through their time in service using the morning reports of their military organization(s). Learn what these records contain, when names are mentioned, and how an organization's movements and events can help build your ancestor's story.
Margaret McMahon, Ph.D. is an experienced educator, researcher, and author with a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering, Margaret brings a strong academic and technical foundation for her work in genealogy. Her expertise provides background for presenting topics such as: artificial intelligence, education, military history research, and technology. Her speaking journey began in classrooms teaching undergraduate, graduate and professional students, and presenting at national and international technical conferences before transitioning to genealogy education. Since 2007, she has delivered over 145 lectures at genealogical societies around the US, at local and regional conferences, as well as for RootsTech Connect. Feedback from audience members has been very positive, citing how much they have learned and how they were inspired to use the practical information they have learned.
