About this event
As the holiday season arrives, we hope that your compilations of family records and new insights into your family histories have been productive and that you now have draft manuscripts that you can share with the group. If you have been working on a manuscript that you would like to have reviewed, please let me know.
We are all at different writing skills and experience levels, and we enjoy helping each other. Whether questions of grammar, comma usage, spelling variations, or those fiendish footnotes, we welcome the opportunity to discuss and debate the issues.
We are looking for manuscripts to review at the 2024-2025 meetings (Feb 3, Mar 3, Apr 7, May 5, and June 2). Your participation is important in holding the meetings and sharing your experience in preparing manuscripts for family, friends, community archives and libraries, and publication.
Join us at the online Zoom meeting to learn how historical context can be incorporated into family history narratives. You will also see how two stories can be told at once, placing the protagonist in the center of the action, adding suspense, injecting drama, and using dialogue to move the story forward.
If you wish to be added to the members' list to receive a copy of the draft manuscript by email and join the online meetings, please send your name and email address to SIG co-leader Sean Furniss at Sean.Furniss@gmail.com.
Copies of the 2016-2024 manuscripts, a copy of the current guidelines and other files that may be of interest can be found in the Informational Guidelines in the DropBox folder at:
