Speaker: Yvette Hoitink
Writing research reports is a powerful tool for any genealogist—not just professionals. It helps you analyze the sources you have found more deeply and see patterns that you might otherwise have overlooked. It helps you document your research to share with others, or to pick it up at a future date. But most importantly, it helps you build reliable conclusions.
Yvette Hoitink, CG®, QGtm is a professional genealogist, writer, and lecturer from the Netherlands who specializes in researching Dutch ancestors. Her Dutch Genealogy website (www.dutchgenealogy.nl) recently celebrated its 30th anniversary and has helped thousands of people find their ancestors from the Netherlands.
Yvette has a background in computer science and business studies and worked as an IT consultant and project manager for the National Archives of the Netherlands. In 2012, Yvette became a professional genealogist, working for clients with ancestors from the Netherlands or its former colonies. She has a postgraduate diploma in Family and Local History from the University of Dundee and is certified by the Board for Certification of Genealogists.
Yvette lectures about research in the Netherlands, methodology, emigration, and related topics.
She won excellence awards for her articles in the National Genealogical Society Quarterly and the Association of Professional Genealogists Quarterly.
