Fran Millhouser has prepared an article about Seth Washburn of Marietta, Ohio, with information from her summer research trip. This is intended for the periodical of the Washington County (Ohio) Historical Society, The Tallow Light as well as family members. It covers a period in the life of my g-g-g-grandfather, Seth Washburn (1776-1858) when he left Bridgewater, Mass and migrated to Marietta, Ohio. He lived there from 1797 to 1809, married in 1803, and returned to Bridgewater after the death of his first wife in 1809 in Marietta.
We are looking for manuscripts to review at the Nov 6, Jan 2, Feb 5, Mar 4, Apr 1, May 6, and June 3 meetings. If you have a manuscript you are writing for your family or publication, members of the Family History Writers’ Special Interest Group would enjoy reading and reviewing your family narratives to help you to make them even better.
We are all at different levels of writing skills and experience, and we enjoy helping each other. Whether questions of grammar, comma usage, spelling variations, or those fiendish footnotes, we welcome the opportunity to discuss and debate the issues.
